The rain on July 6th

It rained today, much like the days remote
Much like the days which passed
And those, which will soon
But 6th felt long.

6th whispered ideas, wounded red and blue
Asked the crimes to justify them
And those, waiting for trial
Stood afar crying.

Earth is the haven and the rain mere ships
The sky is the ocean, we the fish
Few get killed by the blades;
Sharp – yet we live.

And safe to say that you lived too, perhaps
A little under debris but it is you
Oh rains did cease at the port.
And the jar had life abode.
